Meet

Shoes belonging to the Boy from Cupang. May 7, 2012. Belated Happy Birthday Renan! It is a shame I only have photos of just some of your lolo shoes. But, dear friends, I assure you that he has more. Haha. I remember seeing this boy from Cupang wearing yellow socks one day during the extremely stressful semester and I had no choice but to smile (but I must have laughed though I can’t remember if I did). Bright and sunny socks on a somehow dreary morning, bold, fearless, looooveit. And so to the most fashion-forward person I know, I wish you belated happy birthday. I wish you happiness and freedom to do what you want to do. I completely support you in this brewery business you have in mind as well as your Zara dreams. I support you because I have zero doubts you will succeed and largely because if my life falls apart, I expect you to hire me. Haha. Also, I’d just like to add that if only I had a decent camera, I’d personally manage your lookbook account.

Meet Renan, the boy from Cupang. May 5, 2012. See? He looks like cotton-candy here. I cannot wait for your color combinations this year. I challenge your pechay combination.

Chateau Renan. May 11, 2012. Thank you for inviting me to your chateau which is a long long long way from “the north”. Though I just saw the west wing, I expect to see the rest in the future. And I loved your fountain and the whole Bali thing going on. Thank you also for your imported ginger beer – taught me not to judge beer based on its label. I shall see you sooon. Let’s go senior  year!

Good shoes take you to good places.

Meet The Clique

Exchange Students: Remembering the good times. I don’t think I need to indicate where these were taken – that’s the point. Haha. Random pictures taken during our semesters abroad. Since I’m not travelling around and I’m confined to studying in school and at home, I want to post pretty pictures of places around the world that my friends have been to (and me of course, yaay). Our batchmates are done with their junior year already while we are still in the middle of this grueling semester. Grueling is an understatement. They weren’t kidding when they said school would be hard once you get back. I remember this line from Big Fish where the author said something like time stops when you see the one but what they don’t tell you is that time catches up and everything fast forwards after. In a way, this semester is something like that I guess. Time stopped for us for four months, it was the most awesome four months but now those days are catching up to us. Everything is moving so quickly, it’s seriously crazy. But again, I just wanted to post these pictures to remind myself (or remind us) that even when it gets really tough, I think I can say this is still worth it. It was an awesome experience. Hands down. As for “The Clique”, it’s an inside joke. I love these people and we’re groupmates in a lot of things. I think this sem and the previous one would have been so much harder if I wasn’t with them. So yaay, thank you friends. Kaya natin to, let’s finish strong.

 We are young.

Meet Aiko. Taken in Camp Suki (Costume Rental Store) in early 2010.Or you might have known her as Ian or Renee or Claudia or Cielo as she goes by many names. I love this girl because: 1) I’m taller than her. 2) She is one big ball of fun and crazy. 3) She’s malandi like ever. 4) She always listens to my stories even though they keep on repeating or they’re really pointless. 5) She has the power to make the people around her happy and she uses this power to make the world a better place. I’m sure anyone who has known this girl is thankful for that fateful encounter. Haha. She also loves kids. I could say that this girl would be the perfect mother. (Chos, ang layo pa.) There.

Happy Birthday Aiko! (I am not  just saying these things because it’s your birthday by the way.) I know I almost forgot to greet you. I realize I’m starting to suck at remembering birthdays. I suck but I shall work on that. Anyway, I greet you here because I miss you and scrapblog doesn’t work. I was supposed to make you one. Anyway. We shall catch up soon! Sabi ni Fr. D there are friendships we choose to preserve and friendships that are merely convenient. I choose to preserve ours (especially because we have awesome awesome times such as this picture: costume hunting)! Though I haven’t talked talked to you in a very long time. I will soon! This summer! I love you Aiko! Shopping na rin tayo soon! Wish you more love and happiness!

About Camp Suki. Since the pictures are calling for an explanation and I suddenly felt nostalgic, why not talk about the place? Camp Suki is this little costume rental store located in New Manila. It looks like a house from outside, well I think it is a house, but once you find yourselves upstairs it feels like you’re in a fantasy world where fairies and princes and monsters are found – well, at least their costumes. They let you try on anything you want and simply looking through the racks is awesome. We were just looking for “evil girl” costume then but we spent more time exploring and trying on other costumes that had nothing to do with our play. Renting is a little expensive though but then again, it is worth it. All costumes are very well-made, every detail down to the smallest accessory is carefully thought of and placed. I did have a problem with the size but nothing a few pins couldn’t fix. After going to this place and trying on countless hats, wigs, masks, costumes, it made me me think I would want a rental store like this in the future. Aside from being such a fun business, it seems pretty profitable. So hooray for Camp Suki. Click here for their website!

A true friend is someone who will take a body bag from you and not ask questions about it.

The couple: Frances & Kevin. It’s Kevin’s birthday today! To one of the best ones out there, Happy Birthday! Kevin is one half of the poster couple of happy beginnings, middles, endings. Chos. The other half is Frances my very good amazona friend. She made this cute cute video for Kevin. Seriously, for a first time, the video is very good. Or maybe it’s just because I’m cheesy and I love anything that offers lots of kilig but whatever, I enjoyed it so much I had to share it.

Calvin already had a blog post about this couple before but as he made his blog private, linking it now would be pointless, so I shall make my short and sweet version since the video is inspiring. I feel strange doing this because people only write about couples when they get engaged or married or something but why not now? Haha. I don’t need a ring to prove that their relationship gives me muuuch hope for luuurve.

Kevin and Frances are both very beautiful people, inside and out. They’re both so smart, so caring, so faithful and so incredibly nice. I found myself talking about them last Friday over lunch and it reminded me of all those things Kevin did (still does) for Frances. My favorite one is when Kevin brought fish and others prepared my his mom to Frances’ house. Who does that these days? I remember laughing about it with Calvin but really, it’s just too sweet and thoughtful. Who would mind getting homecooked fish, especially when it’s prepared by the guy’s mom? I certainly wouldn’t. Inggitera, haha. They’re also always so giving of each other. They would always support each other, when Frances models for a party far far away from Kevin’s house or when Kevin is about to take a test that will determine a lot of things. Really, it’s awesome. They always adjust for each other when they need to. I’m sure not everyday’s perfect for them but they have always made it work. Their ability to make each other happy is always inspiring.

I wish that this couple continue to grow and all that shizz. I learned in Theo that genuine love should push each other to grow and I believe that they are really growing because of each other. I think I’ve witnessed it happen at least once. Being able to know a couple like Frances and Kevin and even act as third wheel at times, make me an even cheesier person. A relationship based on love and not on other things is possible, my friends! Now it makes me think that to have a relationship like theirs, I need to be at least as nice as them. Gosh, I have got a long way to go. Seeing them happy together though makes striving to be incredibly nice seem very much worth it. Noted.

Imagine a future moment in your life where all your dreams come true. You know it’s the greatest moment of your life and you get to experience it with one person. Who’s standing next to you?

Happy Birthday Calvin! Better late than never. Didn’t greet you on facebook anymore, gasgas na yun. Since we’re bloggers (or feeling bloggers), I greet you here! To one of the craziest people I’ve ever met, you are awesome and I wish you all the best and more focus on what you think you’re meant to do! Thanks for everything (one is for supporting me and Frances this night), it meant a lot and everything else you do means a lot! You’re one of the best-est frieeends ever, cheesy mood ako ngayon. I’m always here for you (wag lang pag hell week, kiddiiiing.) Haha. See you in school.

I’ll be there for you because you’re there for me too-oooh.
